Every year, the city’s streets, theatres, galleries and parks are abuzz with major festivals. People visit Sydney’s festivals seeking creative challenges, inspiration and the opportunity to celebrate as a community.

The Major Festivals Program is an invitation-only initiative, under which the City seeks to recognise our eight major festivals and their significant contribution to the social, cultural and economic life of Sydney.
