If you ever imagined your living room as an ideal theatrical backdrop, you have an opportunity to make this happen during Art & About Sydney 2014.
Sydneysiders with a sense of humour and adventurous spirit, who are happy to invite audiences into their homes, can be part of an intimate theatre show that can be ordered straight to your door.
The inventive folk at Rock Surfers Theatre Company – usually based at The Bondi Pavilion Theatre – are premiering their next production very literally in loungerooms across Sydney . They’re looking for big living rooms in the inner city to host Armchair Apocalypse, commissioned for Art & About Sydney 2014.
If you think you can afford to add some drama to your home, here’s the criteria. You must:
- Be located in the City of Sydney local government area
- Have a big room in a house (approx. 4m x 4m to fit 20-30 people – you might need to move some furniture, the more the merrier) that can be used between 20 Sept – 12 Oct
- Own the house (sorry, you have to own it)
- Have a sense of humour, adventure and readiness to welcome some guests into your home for an hour.
