We may not have Copenhagen’s magnificent Black Diamond library, or an outdoor collection where the books are catalogued according to the feeling they arouse – but we do have a luscious public park, a bustling city festival and a whole lot of sunshine!

When in town for the plentiful Sydney Festival shows and events, grab some shade, a good book and take a load off at our Lawn Library.

We’re set up just near Sacrilege, so you can chill out while the kids are bouncing around. The Lawn Library will also be hosting kids’ storytelling from our Libraries team and arts and crafts workshops from Pine Street. You can learn how to grow a garden on your balcony from Green Villages – and there’s even a circus workshop! You’ll find the full calendar here.

And did we mention all the books are free to take home with you?

In the middle of the Sydney Festival Village. Enter Hyde Park at College Street, head towards Sacrilege and the Circus Tent and you won’t miss it.

11am – 10pm (or so)
Until 26 January
